WOC - design team call

My 1st Nappy/Diaper cake

I've been wanting to make one of these for a while and decided the perfect person to make my 1st for would be my sister who gave birth to a beautiful little boy on Easter Sunday. I've started by cutting out a piece of card and putting on it some wet wipes, baby bath, baby powder, nail clippers and a little hair brush. I've then rolled up the nappies and put a band around each of them to keep them in place and stood them up around the base to hide the items inside. Then i did the same on the next layer but made it a little smaller, then finally i did the same again on the top to make the 3 tier cake. Once all of the layers were done i wrapped the white ribbon around then wrapped the blue baby ribbon around the middle of the white sticking it with my hot glue gun ( I tried some other glues and tap but it just wasn't holding) When the whole cake was together and the ribbon was on i wrapped the whole thing in cellophane and put the bow and ribbon on the top.

Bringing new life to old picture frames.

I went to a local car boot sale this morning and picked up these lovely frames. They looked a bit dated and nothing special but i saw potential so i got them at a bargain price! I've spent about a hour now adding  beautiful wild orchid crafts flowers and beads to them and now i think they look just lovely! I've decided rather than to have all 3 the same I'd got for 2 different colour schemes so here they are! what do you think?

Finished Peacock

I spent ages looking at the stamp I'd coloured and just couldn't find any inspiration so I put it to one side and did a few other things. Then at about 4am this morning the idea came to me so I've finally been able to put it together. I used the cricut to cut out the labels from the "Just Because" cards cart I did the mirror card on portrait at 8 1/4" and the red card i stamped with a peacock feather background stamp and put that at 6". I put a piece of lovely black ribbon onto the mirrored piece before layering the red. I have then stuck on the peacock that i coloured and added some of the beautiful wilds orchid crafts flowers, a stick pin that i added some beads to some other beads in with flowers and a tag with the persons name on that this is for. I curved the tag and added some gems, the name has been wrote on with white Gel pen. I am actually really happy with out this has turned out.

Beautiful day and eBay

What a glorious day it is today! I've cleaned the cars got loads of laundry done and I'm not just having a quick break before starting on dinner, It's all go here today! I've even managed to get some more items listed on eBay so if anyone is interested this is the link don't forget i combine the postage on any items I sell.

Enjoy this wonderful weather and happy crafting!

Just a short post, I've been asked to make something with a peacock on it so I've stamped this image and coloured it in with my promarkers ready to make the item, I'll keep posting with updates on how it's going!

new stamps

I got me 2 lovely new sugar Nellie stamps today how adorable are they! I've already posted the video but here's a photo as i've not got a very steady hand lol

I do love a good clear out

I've spent a good part of today having a clear through some of my craft items that i don't use any more. Turns out I've got quite a lot i don't need lol. I'm just sorting things now into lots and then I'll be listing it all on eBay. I'm going to be listing cheap as I'd like it to go to a new home and give me some space for the things i am using more now. I'll post links when it's all listed!

Wild Orchid Crafts Design Team Open Call

Gone fishing!

This is a birthday card i have made for a man. I have used Daisy and Dandelion, Dandelion goes fishing stamps to make this card. I stamped the image onto a piece of white card i cut with my spellbinder. I have coloured the stamp in with promarkers and i coloured with background with promarkers and ink. I then cut a larger shape from a sheet of grey cor'dinations card stock to put behind. I have made an easel card out of plain white card I've used some digital backing papers that I've printed out to cover it then added some different ribbon and the embellishments/sentiments.
The birthday sentiment opens up to say take it easy.

Little gift magnolia tilda card topper.

How adorable is this Tilda?! well i coloured this one in a few days ago, and i think it's probably my best attempt so far. I used my promarkers for this one then layered it ontosome gorgeous turquoise paper. I've used some other papers I'd got in my various storage boxes and I've finished it off with a selection of wild orchid crafts flowers some peachy coloured ribbon some faux pearls and a stick pin which i made myself.

Sarah Kay ATC

This atc is a Sarah Kay image i have stamped onto thick canvas card. I have stamped the image with Tim Holtz distress ink in walnut stain and has been coloured in with promarkers. I've then distressed the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in antique linen and then gone over the edges with the walnut stain.

Gorjuss ATC

I've never made any ATC's before but i picked up a couple of packs of blanks a few weeks ago and i have been meaning to give it a go. I'm not really sure what is supposed to go on these cards but from what i can gather anything goes. I have used one of my Gorjuss girl stamps and stamped it onto textured card with Tim Holtz distress ink in walnut stain. I've then used my trusty promarkers to colour her in before inking around the edge with Tim Holtz distress ink in antique linen.
Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think for a 1st attempt and feel free to leave me any tips for making others in the future.

Thank you x

one last post for the night. Another manga girl

This is my favourite manga stamp i own at the moment but i am bidding on some really fantastic ones so watch this space for some really cool new images! I have had such a productive evening I've got so many things finished up and I've got lots of items listed on eBay and some bids already!

This card is nice and simple, I've coloured in the stamped image with promarkers in one of my favourite colours. Then layered it up into some turquoise card stock and then onto some black paper. The backing paper is just fab! I got this in a pile of papers i picked up from a car boot sale mega cheap. I've then embellished the card with a bring pink satin flower, pink ribbon and a charm that i have made with beads and a silver butterfly.

Stick pins

I love how stick pins look on cards and they really are so easy to make i just had to have a go for myself! These are my 1st attempts at making them.

manga/anime bunny

I got the senitment that says somebunny loves you a while ago and have been looking for a stamp i could use it with so i was so happy when i saw this one! As always i've coloured the image with promarkers and i've embellished the card with wild orchid flowers and vintage ribbon and i've used some faux pearls.

Hanglar Easter card

Definite overload of cuteness going on with these Easter Hanglar stamps. I had great fun colouring this one in and I've had these brown papers and card stock for a while wanting to use them but never having a project to use them on. once again i have embellished the card with more of the lovely wild orchid crafts flowers I've also used some thick cream satin ribbon and some faux pearls. This is the card i made for the ABC dt Easter challenge.

Still here

I've not made a post for a bit but I am still here. It's been a very busy couple of weeks, the past 2 days I've had 2 of my sons birthdays and today we are having back to back parties for them. I've got a hall and a bouncy castle for 5 hours it's going to be great fun! I've got a few projects to share with you I'm not sure if i will have time to do it this weekend but i am only working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week and then I've got 2 weeks off for Easter so i will be posting lots of new things during that time.

Take Care and Happy Crafting! x
