a cute one!

It's been ages since I made a 'cute' card but I just fancied colouring in this little mermaid...I stamped her out a while ago so I will have to hunt through my rubber stamp box to find out where se is from and I will update as soon as I do.

I coloured her in with promarkers and used papers from K & co, the ribbons and fibres were from my stash.

I am entering this into the following challenges.

Something Fishy

I kow it's not my teams turn this week to make a piece for Delicious Doodles, but I was inspired by the theme and as I went to the beach at the weekend and gathered loads of shells and driftwood I had to make something :) The image is from Delicious Doodles and is called beach huts, I coloured it in with promarkers and put it into the frame which I then covered with the drift wood and some shells.

Tic-Tac-Toe at Smudgy Antics

Welcome back for another challenge with Smudgy Antics. The theme for this fortnight is Tic-Tac-Toe. You must use three items in a row from the grid below.   You may go down, across, or diagonally.

There is still a week left to play along with us in this challenge.  for my piece I have made a tag using 2 differnt lines Flowers, Metal, ribbon Ribbon, paint, cardboard

I used one of the new digi's from the Broken and Bleeding set I coloured her in with promarkers and added some glossy accents and a gem on her necklace. On the tag I have used a piece of cardboard that I cut with a die, some ribbon, a border die cut from cardstock then covered with foil before running through the embosser, I then used black paint on it and rubbed so much off just to take the shine off the foil. To finish it off I used a couple of cherry blossom flowers and a metal charm. I am using this piece in the junk funk challenge over at smeared and smudged

Quoth the Raven pick 3

We have a new quest for you over at Quoth the Raven
The Master hath provided thee with a fine list of articles beseeching to be transformed into creations of such divine glory that may be humbly offered for his perusal. Choose thee ANY 3 items and create something which doth please thy artistic hankerings :-) But remember - thy offering MUST be related to Edgar Allan POE to be worthy of attaining the Prize.  Bring ye not thy slushy and mushy if it be not related to POE in some instance, for thou shalt not be rewarded.
For my offering I have made a small pocket book. I have used cardstock for the book and faux leather and material for the binding and cover. Inside is a collection of ATC's (ok well there will be!)
I have used stamps from Ike's art and Smeared ink.
The 3 things I picked from the list are The man himself Edgar Allan Poe, a Raven and lace.

Ribbon and twine at left of centre

It's time for a new challenge over at Left of Center! you have 2 weeks to get your enteries in so plenty of time to get creating, this time we want to either see the LOC themes which can be found on the blog here or we want to see ribbon and twine on your mainstream creations. Our sponsor for this challenge is Rick St Dennis who's image I have used in my creation.
I covered my tag in paints then used gesso to attach some pieces I cut from some design papers. The image I used is called euro girl Gloria Glowbug and I coloured it in with promarkers.

Delicious Doodles more than one fold

It's my teams week to make the DT pieces for the Delicious Doodles challenge this week and the theme is more than one fold. I don't tend to do fancy cards so I had to have a little think about this one. I finally decided to make a pocket gift book.

This book is pretty easy to make and just uses one sheet of 12" x 12" paper or cardstock. I used a sheet of K&Co double sided design paper. The image I have used is called Marina and she can be found here

Dragon Dream Tag

I forgot to post this when I made this! It is a tag I made using the new dragon dreams digi from Delicious Doodles. I have painted it with distress inks, the backing paper is actually wall paper, a while ago I picked up a load of designer wall paper sample books and I just love the snake skin one :D

make it colourful at smudgy Antics

It's bee a week already since the challenge over at smudgy antics has been running! That was one fast week, I have got a little bit of inspiration for you if you are struggling for ideas.

The challenge is to make a project that is colourful but you cannot use markers or pencils. At first I went into total panic mode, but then I stought about it and realised I often make things without markers and pencils. There are so many ways to make something colourful, there is paint, ink, paper piecing, perfect pearls..the list is endless!

I have made 2 tags, the first one I have used pieces of coloured paper for the back ground, then randomly stamped all over it with my ink pads, once it was dry I stamped the image from smeared inks Carnies set.

The second piece I hav paper pieced, I painted the background of the tag first then printed the image out onto different coloured papers, cut out and stuck on the bits I wanted, agan the image is from Smeared ink and this time is from the candy is da…
