Smudgy Antics Broken heart

We have all been there...crying our eyes out because somebody we loved broke our hearts.  If you haven't had a broken heart, I'm sure you helped one of your best friends mend their broken heart or watched your children get their hearts broken. This fortnight we want you ladies and gents to create a project depicting a broken heart or being broken hearted.
Get creative and don't be afraid to think outside of the box.  We embrace all forms of stamped art and love seeing original and diverse projects.  You may enter cards, scrapbook pages, tags, atcs, altered objects, mixed-media projects, etc.  The more creative you get, the more likely you are to be the chosen winner of the challenge.
For my piece I have made an oversized tag. I used molding paste and acrylic paints for the base and the stamps I used are the heart wings rubber from smeared ink. This was the feature set for December and can be found here in the past offerings.

I do hope you will join us for this challenge at

Smudgy Antics (Late again!)

I seem to be playing catch up lately and I'm behind with everything so sorry I didn't get this posted yesterday! The current challenge at Smudgy Antics is to use embellishments. I have made a mage for my journal. I used some texture paste, acrylic paints, some pieces of fibre and material to make the background then I added my image which is
Astrologia Digi Single- Septem Liberalis The embellishments i have used are: buttons, die cut, flower trim, resin bird, wire clip and metal token.

Friday the 13th with Delicious Doodles

Yes I know it is now Saturday! I totally crashed after work yesterday then had to go to a party which I was falling asleep at so had to hit the sack when I got in hence the lateness of this post :(

The challenge over at Delicious Doodles this week is Friday the 13th, or unlucky for some.

For my piece I made this ATC

I use the digi called Love Lies Bleeding and paper called Rose and Thistle

I'm looking forward to seeing all the scary entries this week :D

Left of Center no designer papers

I am a little sad in writing this post as it is my last DT piece for Left of Center. I have a great time being a part of the LOC DT and I know the team will carry on for a long time coming up with some fantastic challenges and fabulous art work for everyone to see. I'm having to cut back on my commitments due to starting a Degree course in a few weeks!

For this challenge we are being sponsored by Rick St Dennis, I used his robotics 101 to make this tag. I added some pieces of cardboard to the tag and covered the whole thing with some foil which I had screwed up to give it some texture. I rubbed over the tag with some black paint and then rubbed as much as I could off. The metal pieces I added were from my junk box and the sentiment is from a small stamp I've had for ages but I can't remember where it's from.

Quoth the Raven TIC TAC POE

Sorry guys I thought I had posted this, and never thought to check!

We have a great challenge for you again at Quoth the Raven which is this TIC TAC POE grid

You can pick any row to make your piece and you can create anything you like for your entry as long as you have used a line of the grid and it is related to Poe
For my piece I used the diagonal line with Stitching, POE and Raven.
I started by printing off the Poe image and backing paper from Ike's Art I stitched the backing paper onto some fabric using twine (which was a pain as it kept breaking!) and then used twine to stitch some beads along the side. I frayed the edges of the material and coloured the image with promarkers before sticking it to the backing.
I do hope you are able to join us for this challenge.

ATC with Smudgy Antics

The theme for the current Smudgy Antics Challenge is to make an ATC. You can make it any theme you like just remember it needs to be stamped somewhere.

For mine I have used one of the new papers from Smeared ink which as you can see can be made small for ATC's and they still look brilliant! The stamp I used is dead dancer pointing which is also from smeared ink.

Simply Betty FB challenge

I am so glad I manage to get this finished in time to meet the deadline for this challenge, I was starting to panic! For this challenge you need to create something with the digi which you are given for free, of course you have to use the free digi or you can't play next month...but if you are getting something for free the least you can do is use it anyway right?
For my piece I printed the stamp inside the specimen jar from smeared ink then coloured in the witch with promarkers. Once I had cut it out I used some acetate over the top leaving a gap so it curved like a proper jar. For the background I used one of the brand new paper from smeared ink and used twine to make a kind of spiders web. The sentiment I typed and printed out.
Be sure to check out the Simply Betty challenge where you will see all the other entries and there is also a link to her shop on there which is well worth checking out.
