Deadly Nightshade

Teri has done it again! Another fantastic image will be hitting the Delicious Doodles Store on Wednesday and she really is a stunner! This beauty is called Deadly Nightshade and I have been lucky enough to get to play with her already.

I printed the image onto some vellum and coloured her with promarkers.

I then made a frame for it and a holder to pop a tea light into, I have used a proper one just to take photos but will be replacing it for a led one just as soon as I get some new batteries for mine tomorrow.

The first photo was with the candle lit.

Art journal every day, hand sewing

I have been inspired by Julia's Technique of hand sewing on the page so I have made this page to share. I painted the page with acrylics then when it was dry used various rubber stamps to stamp all over it the smeared ink stamps used on the background are all from the Quoth the Raven set. I then added some piece of paper from the Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells paper and the It could Be digi from smeared ink.
I then finished off the page by hand sewing with some bakers twine.

Post it note cover/ Smeared Ink DT

For my Smeared Ink DT piece this week I have made this post it note cover. I love using post it notes but they do look so boring so I like to make covers to put mine in. This cover I made using some retired design series paper from Stampin' Up! Which I thought was perfect to use with the stamps from the circus procession stamp set from Smeared Ink. I picked the carnival stamp and the elephant stamp from that set to use on the front cover. The book it held closed with a couple of little brads from my stash.

I have also added a new tutorial to my Cheapskate Crafter group on the Smeared and Smudged forum if you'd like to have a look.

Last day of Creepmas

I am so glad I am still off work sick or I never would have made it to the end of this hop, I have been having a look at what everyone has been making but I am really sorry that I've not been commenting, I've been hopping at night on my phone which is a pain to comment from.

Here is my final piece, I have stamped on the candle with one of the stamps from the Dark Holidaze rubber set drawn by Rick St Dennis for Smeared Ink. I then coloured that little chappy in with promarkers and added the metal pins to it.

I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas xxxx

On the 11th day of Creepmas

Well I know Christmas isn't even here yet but I have just decided what my New Years resolution is going to be for next be more organised! I have already started to make a week by week list of things that need doing, going to have a real good sort out in the home too and make it easier to keep everyone and everything thing in it in some kind or organised (I am sure for the most part that will continue to be organised Chaos LOL)
Anyway enough of my rambling here is my project for today.
I have made a little card using another of the fab 12 days of creepmas digi's from smeared ink drawn by IKE
The papers and ribbon are from my stash and the little ribcage I made with some resin.

White Christmas with Delicious Doodles

The new challenge over at Delicious Doodles is White Christmas.

For my piece I have used the image On a Winter's day, I picked this one because it really gave me a feel of that magical Christmas when everything is white over.

I coloured the image in with distress inks and used Graphic 45 papers in the background.

I hope you will find time to come and join us with this challenge.

I can't believe it is less than a week now until Christmas! Other than wrapping a few gifts I am actually quite organised which must be a first LOL

The piece I am sharing today is a little gift box, I made this box with some Stampin' Up card stock, graphic 45 paper, a rubber stamp from the smeared ink rubber set called Dark Holidaze (designed by Rick st Dennis) and the antique brad is also from Stampin' Up.

The Stamp was coloured using Stampin' Up Inks and an aqua brush, it is the first time I have coloured like this and I am really pleased with the results.

Smeared Ink DT piece

I have decided to combine my DT piece for the week with the Musically Challenged Challenge which is any Beetles song, now I have to admit I already had an idea what stamp I wanted to use so it was a case of finding a Beetles song to match it. The song I came up with is Happiness is a warm gun.

The stamp I used is from the Smeared Ink Rubber stamp set called Chicks Dig Guns the set can also be found in digital form here.

My image was coloured in with promarkers then rubbed over with distress ink to dull it a little, I used the bullet hole stamp from the set onto so white cardstock and used a distress embossing powder on it. the blue card stock was also stamped all over however that is difficult to see and the ribbon at the side is a leather strip. The words I wrote on a piece of white card in a Stampin write marker then rubbed distress ink over.

Don't forget there are always fun things happening on the Smeared and Smudged forum so be sure to pop in and see what's going on.

Day 9 of creepmas

I am finding this hop harder work than the Halloween one this year. As most of you know my middle son has an operation on his ears last week so I have been looking after him since and I just seem to have lost all track of time which means my piece today is just a simple card. I have used another of the 12 days of creepmas digi's from smeared ink along with the name stamp from the Dark Holidaze rubber set (Thank you Helen for the idea )

I am off to my craft desk now to come up with something for day 10, happy hopping.

Day 8 of Creepmas

Today I am sharing a tag, I used a piece of cardboard from a box I had saved, it has been covered in a cream paint then a black paint once dry, there is a die cut tree that the image partly covers this has been rubbed over with silver rub and buff. the image is another of the 12 days of creepmas digi stamps from Smeared Ink. I inked all over my image with distress inks then covered over the bones with my Stampin' Chalk Marker.

If you have been looking at some of the fab creepmas makes but haven't yet become a member of the Smeared and Smudged Forum I would recommend that you do come over and have a look. There are many monthly challenges, an art journaling group and mixed media classes.

Day 7 of Creepmas

My piece today I have made this morning with my new Smeared Ink Rubber stamp set Dark Holidaze by Rick St Dennis that came yesterday. I started by stamping out the fireplace and used the little snow globe on the top of it, I them stamped out the present and got colouring.

The card I used to make this is from Stampin Up! I was just playing around with the card and my Simply Scored board and ended up with this triangle shape, I then decided that will be perfect for putt in my candy canes around and filling with marshmallows, I've not done that just yet though as I know that they will be all gone by tomorrow LOL

The second piece I am showing you is a decoration my 8 years old has made. He likes to help me craft and loves smeared ink stamps as much as I do :)

He has used the Candy Corn Monster digi stamp to make this tree decoration.

Rock N Rolla Challenge

I decided for my Smeared ink DT piece this week I would make something to enter into the Rock N Rolla challenge on the smeared and Smudged forum. I had to watch the video inspiration several times before picking out some elements to work with. I liked the idea of the puppet theatre and wanted to have the sandy colour on there too. The other bits that I used as inspiration are the christmas garland over the theatre, the skull on the floor and the grave marker.

I started by using some acrylic paints to cover the board and I used a palate knife to mark out the box for the theatre. Once it was dry I started to stamp, I have used 4 rubber sets all from smeared ink to make this, they are Gothic Christmas, Skelly Christmas, Urban Decay and Haunted places 1.
If you haven't already been to have a look at the challenges offered on the forum please go have a look, it's free to join up and each month the challenges really do make you think outside the box.

6th Day of Creepmas

Today I am sharing a tag I have made, I have used the offcuts of other projects to make this tag, including the tag itself. The fab image is one of Teri's new creepmas images for this year and can be found here in the delicious doodles store, his name is Evil Snowman. The sentiment is also one of Teri's and can be found here

5th day of Creepmas

Today I am sharing something that wasn't my original plan This journal page has been made this morning after being inspired by Susan's save the page prompt in the art journal group on the smeared and smudged forum. I started this page last week as I was going to use it as inspiration for my own Junk Funk challenge over at the forum which is to use up scraps of paper. I put on the paper and stamped on it a little but it just didn't feel right so I painted over the stamped part, added some water colour paint along the side, did some stenciling and added the fabulous 12 days of creepmas digi's from smeared ink. I finished it up with some sticky ribbon and some journaling.

If you are hopping then please hop along with the blog list just over there>>>

Gargoyle Tree Topper.

I have just finished making my tree topper for this year. I have used Gothic Church Window and Creepy Gargoyle . I cut out the windows and created a stained glass effect on acetate to go behind it, everything else was coloured with promarkers, I added a piece of card on the back to I could slide it over the top of the tree. It looks pretty cool with the lights just inside it.
If you are here looking for my 4th day of creepmas piece it is on the previous post :)

On the 4th day of Creepmas I give to you...

A journal page full of creepmas joy!
Yes thats right it's another journal page, this time it is inspired by the Christmas music I was listening to. I have done a more gruesome take on Wham's Last Christmas using I give you my heart digi(drawn by IKE)  from the smeared ink store. I hope you are enjoying hopping along and seeing all the fab work. If you'd like to have a chance of getting your hands on some pretty fantastic candy then head over to the Quoth the Raven blog and get signed up :)

Christmas/new year with Delicious Doodles

I was thinking so much about my son coming home from his week away with his school that I totally forgot to do my Dt post for Delicious Doodles (sorry Boss) This weeks challenge is Christmas/new year. I have made a Christmas card using the gorgeous Jolly Holly Postbox image.

Teri has also made some fabulous new Christmas digi's and they are in the store right now so why not pop over and treat yourself to a few :) Click on the image to go to it in the store

Day 3 of 12 days of creepmas and Ho Ho Poe with Quoth the raven

Today I am combining my post today with my DT piece for Quoth the Raven. I have made a journal page. I felt the need to get messy so grabbed my paints and got to work. I didn't bother getting my pain brushes out I just used my finger to spread the paints all over the page, while they were drying I stamped the Poe from Smeared Ink's Quoth the Raven rubber set onto some green paper with versamark and heat embossed it with gold tinsel embossing powder. I dried off the page with my heat gun and stamped onto it with some snowflake stamps and the grill stamp also from the quoth the Raven set. I used the raven from the same set and cut him out a little Santa hat which  used a tiny bit of stuffing from a cushion to edge the hat.

If you are planning on using anything related to Mr Poe during the creepmas hop then please join him up to our challenge

If you are joining in with the hop then please have a look at the blog roll at the side here >>> and start from the top if you hav…

Day 2 of 12 days of Creepmas

As always the blog list is just over there>>> be sure to check out all the cool projects that everyone is making for this hop.

It's Team B's turn to show you what we have made for the It Feels like Winter challenge over at IKE's World Challenges.
I have used the digi called Thatched cottage to make my card, it has been coloured in with promarkers and I used a glittery heat emboss powder. The trim has come from my stash and the papers are from Stampin Up.

I do hope you are able to come and join us for this challenge

New Digi's at Smeared Ink

Smeared Ink have released another set of stamps today and as always I am super lucky to get to play with them. I have only made one card for now however I will be playing more with these over the next couple of days. The set is called eyes in the dark and are my favourite birds...Owls. I used to collect owls as a child and I still have many of them in different forms around my house, everything from pencil toppers to napkin rings. I coloured this one with pro markers and stampin up markers.

I am entering this into the following challenges:

On the 1st day of creepmas....

Ok so here we go again, this time over at Smeared and Smudged we are doing another massive blog hop for Creepmas. I have failed before I've even started as the piece I wanted to have for today isn't even made yet. I have been so busy getting my Middle son ready for his week away with school that I totally forgot to get it made. Instead today I am sharing an ATC which I put together last night. I have used this fantastic creepy snowman called twice as evil snowman from smeared ink.

I coloured my image in with Promarkers and used a offcut piece of card and a scrap piece of Christmas paper, I inked them up to make them a little grungy and added a couple of gems.

The full blog list is just at the side there >>>>>>>>>
