Monthly Blog hop with Smeared Ink

I can hardly believe that it is the last Monday of August! With being off work for the summer holiday I almost missed this hop as I didn't realise that it was nearly Monday again LOL it's a good job I didn't have too much to do yesterday to I could make this piece.

The theme this month is Vintage, I did toy with the idea of vintage zombies but then I remembered this gorgeous image and it all went from there.
The stamp I have used is called Crabby Love from the Smitten set. I started by colouring her in with spectrum noir pens and coloured the background (it's the first time I've done clouds so I was rather pleased with the outcome). The base of the hanging is a piece of mount board, I have added a few photos that kind of shows the mess and thought process when I am crafting, I never really know how I want something to look before I start it. I prefer to collect random things together and see where it takes me LOL

Saturated Canary Birthday card

I made this card for my sister's birthday, the gorgeous image I used is from Saturated Canary and is called Violet Vintage. I have coloured her with Spectrum noir pens and used my minds eye papers on the card, the flowers are from Wild orchid crafts.

Pocket page - Quoth the Raven

There is just under a week left now to join in with the current anything Poes challenge at Quoth the Raven. I have got a little bit of inspiration to share with you. This is the pocket page I made for the swap on the Smeared and Smudged Forum last month, my swap partner was the fabulous Black Dragon so I knew I just had to make something Poe related :D

I have used papers from a Tim Holtz craft halloween pad and the stamps are from Smeared Ink's Quoth the Raven rubber set.

New stamps at Smeared Ink

With Halloween just around the corner there is a brand new digi stamp set in the Smeared Ink store that will be perfect for your creepy makes this year. The set is called Hallocuties and is fantastic!

I have used the Zombie Girl and You're better than brains stamps for this piece and I am sure you will be seeing a lot more from me using this set in the near future.

There is an anything goes challenge starting today and finishing next Thursday, remember if you use a DD image you can enter your creation twice!

For my piece I have made a card using the stunning Venetian Beauty

final day of Smudgefest

Today the challenge for smudgefest was to use the freebie to make something. I have to admit I have struggled today, the arthritis in my shoulder is particularly painful today which has made colouring and cutting quite difficult. I have managed to put something together though, even if it's not very good.

Saturday Splatter

Day 6 of Smudgefest and boy am I glad I am back home for this one!

The piece I have made today comes with a tutorial which you can find in the cheapskate crafter group on the Smeared and Smudged Forum.

I have made a pocket page using a birthday card I had on my birthday, there was lots of paint splattering, ink spraying and distress stain splatting going on while making this piece. The stamps I have used are from the Voodoo by Rick St Dennis Rubberset from smeared ink.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

Flight of Fancy

Day 5's challenge in Smudgefest is to make something with wings. I have used one of the stunning images, called The second Keeper, from The Keepers set from smeared ink, this stamp can be purchased in digi and rubber.

Toil and Trouble

it's Day 4 of smudgefest and today the challenge is to pick at least 3 things from the cauldron to craft with. Well my first reaction was panic as I don't have any of those things really in my little travel craft bag. We had a little walk into town where I knew there was a poundland so I thought I should be able to pick a couple of bits up, I managed to get a bag full of fibre and ribbon a piece of each I added to the bottom of the tag. The image I have used is Acacia, Guardian of Spring Chibi From Smeared Ink. I have used black to shadow all around the image, I added a bit of metal with the birdy paper clip and then added a bit of nature with the leaf that was on the decking.

Terrifying Tuesday

Today the challenge for smudgefest is to showcase your favourtie scary image. I have used the Headshot Zombie image for my piece, I have coloured her in with some spectrum noir markers.

oh my goodness it has taken about a hour now just to upload the photo!!!!

Mixed Media Monday!

Today is the first day of Smudge Fest ...yay!!! If you have no idea what I am talking about then head here and have a look.
Today the challenge is to use 3 different mediums to colour with, well as I am not at home right now and have very limited craft items with me this was rather interesting LOL I have loads of images and I have all my spectrum noir pens but that was it, no inks, no sprays, no paints. Luckily the boys have got a pack of cheap colouring pencils so I coloured the skin with markers, the hair with the pencils and  the wings had a bit of marker on them but then I didn't know what else to use. I tried using some beetroot but just made a mess everywhere so I thought I will have a cuppa and a think...which is when I thought why not just use the tea bag on it, so that is what I did! The image I have used is the Succubus 3 designed by Ike for Smeared Ink
