Use Die cuts or punches

Image
Sorry guys it's going to be a short post from me today as I am not feeling too good.

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Delicious Doodles which is to create something using die cuts or punches. For my piece I used a bit of both. I have made a small card using the Serpent Bearer image which can be found here. I have added many layers to this card hence the focus issues with the camera, it just didn't know which level to focus it on LOL

The other things I have used in this piece are: Poe from the Quoth the Raven set the raven from Holy City Danse Macabre sentiment from the Danse Macabre set  Cross from the Glam Vamps set and the backing is one of the papers from the Honour the Dead paper pack

For this challenge I have made a journal page using papers from My paper stash Library A very important Date and Ike's fabulous Alice.

White nights

Image
This journal page has been made using this music video for inspiration which is the video inspiration for the Rock N Rolla challenge on the smeared and smudged forum.

The Stamps I used were the star stamp from the Smeared Ink rubber set called Jack I then drew the eyes in the centre of the larger stars. The other stamp is from Stampotique I can't remember what her name is though and it's not on the wooden block.

Oh the Horror, Silent Hill

Image
The movie inspiration for the Oh the Horror Challenge this month on the smeared and smudged forum is Silent Hill.
I have watched this movie many times and it has taken a few weeks to pick out what bits of it I wanted to work with. I started by grunging up my page with some distress inks. Then I used Stamps from the Haunted places 2 which is a Rick St Dennis stamp set exclusive to Smeared Ink. Now I know that these sort of buildings are not in the movie, but they have the eerie feel that the movie gives, the other stamp I used is the barbed wire from the urban decay set also from Smeared Ink. I was inspired to use the barbed wire stamp by the scene in the movie that is close to the end when the girl is on the bed and all those wires...roots...whatever they are come out and start grabbing onto anyone and anything. I then inked all around my page with red chalk ink to represent all the blood that is in there then finally I got a lighter and burned in some random places as I couldn't …

Smeared Ink DT Tag

Image
I have just made my dt piece for Smeared Ink, I find it so relaxing to get inky fingers and get completely lost in creating. I have used several rubber stamp sets to create this tag all of which will be listed below.

I have used Stampin write markers to add colour where needed. I started off with some packaging left over from Christmas, the corrugated card I used for my tag base and some scrunched up brown packaging I stamped on with the background skull stamp and the raven wings. I then stamped the other images and coloured them.
The die cut doily is one I have had for years!

You still have a few days left to join in the challenges on the forum including the Junk Funk Challenge which I have set and is to use any packaging.
The rubber stamp sets that I have used are  Holy City Holy City 2 Quoth the Raven Morte
All of these rubber sets can be purchased here as part of the Smeared Ink's Rubber club.

Fresh blood

Image
I am on a roll today! This is my 7th project of the day :D I was inspired by the theme of the challenge at Haunted Design House and straight away I knew I wanted something to do with blood dripping off teeth. I didn't have anything like that so I got out my fimo and made some. When they were cooked and cooled I dipped them in some red acrylic paint. To make the necklace I used some beads and bits from my stash, this was a limited stash as I seem to have misplaced my big case full of jewelry making bits.

Smeared Ink DT piece

Image
My smeared ink piece this week is a journal page. I really needed to get covered in ink and paint today and I feel much better for doing so :) Don't forget there is always plenty of chat along with some fun challenges over at the smeared and smudged forum

The image I have used is one from the creature feature set, I coloured it with distress inks then added extra ink for the background and to grunge up the edges.

The page has been painted with Deco Art Americana in burnt orange then covered with vintage photo distress embossing powder.
The doiley is a linen one I have had for ages and I grunged it up with some distress ink and tattered angels mist in perfect peach. The flower trim is from my stash and the flowers are from Wild orchid crafts, I took one rose apart and made these 2 flatter flowers from it.

Anything Goes with IKE's WORLD Challenges

Image
We are into the 2nd weeks of the current challenge at IKE's WORLD Challenges and this time the challenge is anything goes. This means you can really go with your creativity and see what happens! I decided to make a card for my piece and used the Vespa from the Italy Bundle. I loved colouring in this stamp as I really love that style of bike and if I had any balance at all I would quite like one myself :)

Anything POE's with Quoth the Raven

Image
We have a new challenge over at Quoth the Raven this month, as most people are still recovering from the recent festivities our challenge is an easy one; it is Anything Poe's. Remember the Master likes the darker side of crafting and so do we, so we would love to see your Poe related crating.

My offering for this challenge is a little cabinet that I have altered. The wooden cabinet was given to my sister as it was smaller than she was hoping. I have covered it with papers from Smeared Ink's Poe Boy paper set then I rubbed a little paint over the bits that were left uncovered...now I am sure you are thinking it would have made more sense to paint it then cover it? Well yes it probably would but I never think about these things I just do them and luckily it all turned out ok :)

Smeared Ink DT Piece

Image
Hi guys, here is my DT piece for the week, I have altered this chipboard circle to make a wall hanging. I have been rummaging through my stash to find all the bits and piece for this piece so  I can't list where I had it all from and I've had some of it for a long time. I do know however that the little frozen Charlotte is a genuine Frozen Charlotte from between 1900 and 1920.

The stamped images I have used are both Smeared Ink ones, the corset is from the Heavy Metal set, the other is Butterfly 2 from the Specimen Jar set .

http://brownsugarchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ - used ruffled ribbon all around the chipboard http://crafts4eternity.blogspot.co.uk/ http://punkyougirl.blogspot.co.uk/ http://simplycreatetoo.blogspot.co.uk/ http://eclecticpaperie.blogspot.co.uk/

Layer up with Delicious Doodles

Image
New challenge today over at Delicious Doodles, as it's the middle of winter want you to layer up!

For my piece I used the digi called Cuppa, I have used a sentiment stamp from the express yourself stamp set from Stampin up. I picked this image as my solution to everything is to have a cuppa, nothing better in the cold weather either than to sit with a nice hot cuppa :)

I do hope you will be able to come and join us for this challenge

New Beginnings with IKE's WORLD Challenges

Image
First off SORRY!!! I really do get lost during the holidays and I have only just realised that yesterday was Tuesday so I am late posting this.

The current challenge over at IKE's WORLD Challenges is new beginnings, for my dt piece I have made a scrapbook page. The page is 8" x 8" and has been covered in various papers from my stash. The image I picked for this is page is one of my favourite ones and it's one I use often, she is called Muse 4.

It would be great to see your IKE's ART creations entered into the challenge. There is also a freebie (because IKE is very generous) on the challenge blog for you to use in this challenge if you wish.
