Breathe - A Dedication to Susan Salyer

I've been doing more journaling recently, I rarely share these with anyone though as they are normally personal to me and often include painting or doodling which I know I'm not very good at. I purposely don't try to make things look real, I'm no artist and don't really know where to start, so instead I just do my own think like always and what happens, happens. Anyway I am waffling back to the point, it was a dear friend Susan Salyer who first encouraged me to journal, she had a confidence in me that I didn't, she is such a wonderful woman who has been through some hard times and is currently grieving. I wanted to make something with Susan in mind, and although this page didn't turn out how I had planned in my head I had to go with it and this is what I got.
The idea was that no matter how terrible things are, just breathe one breathe at a time, take one step at a time and eventually it will become easier and it will all be okay.

I will add at this point that the black and blue splatters wasn't supposed to happen, I was taking the lid off the black paint and 2 big blogs full onto the page, I had a brief moment of muttering, before thinking oh what the heck and flicked more on, and then added some blue flicks too.

So there you have it, Susan know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and that I love you lots.

Susan is new to my life, but I already am beginning to see what you see in her, Shell! She has seen thing in my art that even I didn't see. What a friend! And what a friend you are to have done this dedication piece for Susan. I love it, and I love that it is not perfect. Even in life, none of us are. I think when one paints from the heart--truly from the heart--the result will be a masterpiece. You have done that here! Mwah!
